This fun DIY Yarn Wrapped Christmas Tree is so easy to make and super inexpensive too! It’s a really fun holiday decor diy to make with kids. You can make this DIY string Christmas Tree in any color you like to match your theme!
You will need:
- paper/cardboard cones
- you can also use foam cones as well
- plastic wrap
- mod podge
Wrap your cones with plastic wrap, make sure to cover every part of the cone so the yarn doesn’t stick.
Mix the Mod Podge with water until it’s not too thick. Around a 1 to 1 ratio of glue and water should work. If it’s too thin, it will drip everywhere and not be as strong, and if it’s too thick, the string won’t soak up any of the glue.
Cut your yarn into managable pieces. You will need a lot! Then mix it into your Mod Podge mixture well.
Wrap your tree with the yarn until it’s all covered. Make sure you put lots of layers of yarn so that it will be super sturdy. Once you’re done wrapping, quickly sprinkle your glitter onto your tree while it’s still wet.
Let the tree completely dry and then pull it off the cone. Peel off the plastic wrap and trim the bottom edge to make it level.
That’s it! Now you have an awesome sparkly tree to decorate your house with!
