This is the best edible cookie dough recipe you’ll ever make! It tastes just like a freshly baked sugar cookie. I’m going to make this DIY Edible Sugar Cookie Dough for my mommy for Mother’s Day. You can find a cute jar to put the edible cookie dough in and tie it up with a super pretty ribbon. Decorate the top with edible glitter, stars, flowers, or whatever you think your mommy will like! You will need:
- a large mixing bowl
- a spatula
- all purpose flour
- 1 stick of butter – softened at room temperature
- 1/3 cup (+ extra to decorate with) sugar sprinkles in your mommy’s favorite color
- 1/3 cup light brown sugar
- 2 tsp of vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp of baking powder
- 1/4 tsp of kosher salt
- edible decorations like stars, glitter, flowers, etc.
- a pretty serving bowl or jar and ribbon
First microwave the flour for 90 seconds. This kills off any bacteria/germs that might be on the flour. You can toast your flour or find pre-toasted flour online. Make sure to let the flour fully cool before going to the next step. (Or else the butter will melt.)
Pour the flour into a large mixing bowl. Clear all the clumps or use a sifter. Next put in your butter and mix it up well.
Once its all mixed up, pour in the colored sugar sprinkles, light brown sugar, vanilla, baking powder, and salt. Mix it up again until it’s all incorporated.
Scoop it into a serving bowl or into a jar and decorate it with your extra sugar sprinkles and pretty edible decorations!
