I don’t get to watch TV much because I’m SO busy with all my activities, but when I do. I love to turn on Nick Jr. One of my favorite shows on there is Shimmer and Shine. Have you guys seen it? I’ve been wanting to make this crown for a while now, but didn’t have the time. I bought the materials like 6 months ago, haha. Well, it’s really quick to make, but looks super duper pretty and sparkly. I couldn’t find a green crystal so I bought a clear one and painted it with green translucent glass paint. It still looks super shiny with the paint and you can’t even tell!
I also learned that these “head necklaces” or “head crowns” can also be called “circlets” or “fillets!” I love learning new things!
You will need:
- jewelry wire
- pearl beads
- crystal pendant
- and green translucent paint made for glass if it’s not green yet.
- wire cutters or scissors
Cut a piece of wire a little bit bigger than your head. Bend one end so the beads don’t slide off when you put the beads on.
Put the beads on until there’s enough beads to wrap around your head. Twist it closed leaving a millimeter or two of space to put the pendant on later. Cut of and left over ends.
Bend the crown into a v like shape to make it similar to Shimmer’s crown. Take another piece of wire, about the length from the front of your head to the back of your head. Bend one end and put the green crystal pendant on. Twist the end close and cut off any excess wire.
Wrap the end of the wire with the pendant around the point of the “V” part that you just made to attach it to your crown. Then add beads until there is enough to cover the top of your head. Twist it closed around the same twist you made on the first piece. Cut any excess wire off.
That’s it! Shape it a little more and you’re done! What do you think?
