I went to see the new Beauty and the Beast on Tuesday. It was really good! I’ve been watching the original as well and thought it’d be pretty awesome to have a real working Cogsworth clock. I came up with this easy way to make Cogsworth into a clock that you can put on your wall! What do you guys think?
You will need:
- brown, suede, and gold paint
- I didn’t get to use the gold paint in the video (because my memory card was messing up), but it is for Cogsworth’s time markings on his face.
- paint brushes
- paint tray
- black, white, red felt
- wooden circle
- I found mine’s at JoAnn’s. It already has a hole made for a clock. It was near the Easter section instead of the wooden stuff.
- clock piece and a battery
Paint the edges with the brown paint. Let it dry. Depending on the paint you use, you might have to do 2 coats.
Use the suede paint to paint the inside of the circle. Make sure to let this dry completely. While it’s drying go do step 3.
Cut your felt into the eyes, mouth, etc. You can use the template above to cut your pieces, you might have to adjust the size up or down to fit the wooden circle that you buy.
Once your paint is dry, glue the face pieces on. (And this is where you can use the gold paint to make dots on the right and left of Cogsworth’s face.)
Then follow the instructions on the clock pieces on. (It’s pretty easy.)
That’s it! I think this is a pretty cool craft for a Beauty and the Beast fan.
