Bats! They go hand-in-hand with spiders, pumpkins, and candy for anything Halloween. So I created this cool bat painting to decorate your room with!
You will need:
- canvas (I used an 8’x10″)
- a sponge
- black paint
- Halloween colored paints
- you can also add glow-in-the-dark paint to add even more dimension!
- a plate to put paint on
- a sheet of sticky foam (foam with adhesive on the back)
- a printout of the bat template – click here to download
Take the printout of bats and glue it onto the back of the foam sticker sheet.
Cut out the bats.
Paint the entire canvas with black paint. Let it fully dry before continuing on to the next step.
Peel off the bats and stick them onto the painted canvas.
Swirl Halloween colored paints on your plate. Ollie used orange, purple, green, a little gold, and a little bit of copper.
Take the sponge and dip it into the paint. Be sure to dab it on another piece of paper if there is too much on the sponge. Then start sponging the paint over the bats while making sure the edges around the bats are painted. Leave some of the black showing through in random spots to give it dimension. Let it dry.
Once it’s dry, peel off the bats and you’re done!
*Tip* You can also use the foam bats that you’ve peeled off to decorate anything you want!
